Stories From My Motherland is a "fireside" open mic experience that brings together generations to share, preserve, and celebrate the stories that have shaped us.
A storytelling experience for people who are intentional about ensuring the stories of African childhood are not lost; they may not be stored in books or cinema rooms, but we own them, we know them, we love them, and we want to share and preserve them.
From village tales told by our grandparents by the fireplace to boarding school experiences, campus struggles, city survival stories, family lessons, heartbreaks, hustle journeys, friendships, faith, and modern digital life, this event reminds us that we all carry stories worth hearing.
After a successful Season 1 and Season 2, Season 3 promises to be big, better, and crazier. Whether you come to speak or simply listen, you will leave having had the time of your life.
What to Expect:
Who Is It For?
Everyone: Students. Young professionals. Parents. Creatives. Entrepreneurs. Dreamers. Hustlers. Storytellers. Listeners. (Millennials, Gen Zs, and Gen Xs)
